Your Journey
to Freedom
by Karen Sackett,
Soft cover,
207 pages, $16.95
Journey
gives answers to questions for the survivor, gives journaling
questions and also gives testimony to the focus of
sanctification that is a central part of the healing journey for
a survivor of ritual abuse. Tools to use on the journey and
testimonies from those who have been on the journey are also
included.
This is a
wonderful book! You have compiled the important aspects we face
as SRA survivors, simplified them and given positive, helpful
steps for healing. Praise God for what you have learned,
synthesized and written down. This Biblically based book will
help both clients and counselors. I wish I’d had this when I
began my healing! Those who begin their journey now with such
information will be able to go to core issues sooner by the
renunciations, confession of pride and idolatry, and confronting
core conflicts. God bless you and your ministry. A survivor

Ministering to the Shattered
by Karen Sackett,
Soft cover, 244
pages $19.95
As the reality
of the prevalence of Dissociative Identity Disorder and Satanic
Ritual Abuse has increasingly come to my awareness during recent
years I have made an effort to read and study available
materials, attend workshops and co-counsel with those more
experienced than I, in order to become better equipped to
counsel and minister to those who have been wounded in this
way. When Karen Sackett's books, "Ministering to the Shattered:
A Biblical Perspective", and "Your Journey to Freedom" became
available I ordered them and promptly read through both of
them. I have found her material to be exactly what I needed to
help recognize this condition where it exists and to proceed
with a greater sense of direction in ministering to survivors.
In humility, Karen gives homage to the Lord Jesus as the
Wonderful Counselor and healer, directs the focus on Him and
uses Scripture generously throughout her books. Although she
says there is no format, (which is good to know in order to
avoid the mistake of trying to control the process), I have
found her books to be very well organized, giving clear
guidelines, in stages, defining terms and using diagrams to help
both the client and the counselor. She doesn't obscure the
reality of anticipated obstacles and pitfalls, particularly from
the demonic realm, nor does she lead one to believe that this is
an easy process. But rather than discouragement there is hope.
By trusting the Holy Spirit's guidance and keeping focused on
the Lord, victory and freedom can be expected. I'm very
grateful for these resources and continue to refer to them in
order to become more knowledgeable and better equipped to
minister to the dissociated and survivors of SRA

Spiritual Reality
by G. J. Wiese,
soft cover, 243 pages $16.99
Out of a sonq of praise, the Psalmist
declares:
"0 God, you have given me the heritage of
those who fear your name" (Psalm 61:5b).
Everyone has a family heritage. The Irish
man from Boston, the Hispanic mother living in Miami, and the
Vietnamese teenager in south central LA. all possess a heritage
both rich and complex. Dusting off our ancient family records,
we find that to know our family heritage is to understand
ourselves. To grasp the past is to take hold of the present and
prepare for the future.
As Christians, we participate in an ancient sovereign
plan that began in Eden and consummates in God's cosmic holy
mountain: Mount Zion, . the city of the living God. Knowledge of
our spiritual roots can sustain us with security and a profound
sense of destiny.
How is an Old Testament heritage significant to those of
us who live in an age of unparalleled technological development?
How can such an old document be relevant to a corporate
executive, a suburban mother of three children, or a department
store clerk? Spiritual Reality delves into these
questions and more, demystifying the complexities of
interpreting ancient Hebrew text and discerning the unfolding
spiritual reality before us.
G .J. Wiese is an adjunct instructor of Biblical
and Theological Studies at Bethel College in St. Paul Minnesota
and is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. |
